Welcome to the official website of Rick Stevens, former lead singer for "Tower of Power".

Rick has been singing since the age of four, and started his professional singing career as a teenager. Rick's soulful vocals helped put the Bay Area band "Tower of Power" on the charts in the early 1970's, with such songs as "Sparkling in the Sand" and fan favorite "You're Still a Young Man".

News

For up-to-the-minute news, follow Rick on Facebook. The Tower of Power website and message board are also good places to look for news about Rick. A few videos of Rick's recent performances have been posted on YouTube.

Media coverage continues - since the beginning of the year Rick has been interviewed by The Contra Costa Times and San Francisco Chronicle newspapers, and the Bay Area CBS affiliate, in addition to several internet radio interview. An interview with KNTV, the NBC affiilate in the Bay Area, is scheduled for around Feb. 14, 2013.

January 30, 2013 - HISTORICAL NIGHT! Yoshi's in San Francisco was the site of a show that made history - for the first time in 40 years, Rick performed with Tower of Power, doing three songs including his signature tune, "Your're Still a Young Man".


January 24, 2013 - Rick performed at Bimbo's in San Francisco, for a concert benefitting autism awareness. Rick's long-time friend (and former band-mate) Bobby Gladd took some great photos, a couple of which are posted here. More will be posted soon. July 2012 - RICK RELEASED ON PAROLE!!!

On July 20, 2012, after 36 years of incarceration Rick was paroled, and walked out of state prison into the waiting arms of joyful family and friends.

Rick worked very hard to gain his freedom and he had the strong support of many people who helped make it possible, including the judge who presided over his trial.


To all who have assisted and supported Rick over the years, he says a great big "THANK YOU" - he is very grateful to be blessed with family, friends and fans who have been instrumental in his release. A special note of "thanks" goes to Rick's dedicated attorney, Peter Boldin.
